The Origins of Lake Noquebay Sportsman’s Club
Lake Noquebay Sportsman’s Club, originally incorporated as “The Town of Lake Sportsman’s Club” on April 4, 1962, has been a cornerstone of the Crivitz, Wisconsin community for over six decades. In its early years, the club’s mission was focused on conservation efforts for Lake Noquebay and establishing the area as a premier recreational zone. Meetings were held in a communal spirit, rotating among the many resorts that dotted the lake’s shores, fostering a deep connection among members and the natural environment they cherished.
A New Name and Home
In 1973, the club underwent a significant transformation, changing its name to Lake Noquebay Sportsman’s Club, symbolizing a broader commitment to the community and the sports that brought its members together. The early 1990s marked another milestone when the club acquired a small parcel of land and built a clubhouse, which became the heart of club activities and a gathering place for members.
Evolving Focus
While originally dedicated to conservation, Lake Noquebay Sportsman’s Club has seen its focus shift over the years. As conservation efforts for the lake began to be championed by other nonprofit organizations, our club realigned its priorities towards serving the people and area around the lake more directly. Today, our mission embraces not only the stewardship of the natural environment but also the promotion of shooting sports and community engagement.
Current Commitments
The club continues to be a vibrant hub for outdoor scholarship initiatives and community service, we invest in the future of outdoor recreation and conservation. The club is dedicated to maintaining the legacy of its founders by supporting sustainable practices and fostering a welcoming environment for all who wish to enjoy and preserve our natural heritage.
